Oil Paintings - Bed of Roses
Author: Anthony Masiello
Anybody who loves floral art is sure to fall in love with this very innovative approach to an oil painting depicting flowers. The Rose is the queen of all flowers and in this abstract depiction the artist has chosen to paint the roses in their beds - literally so! What see in this unique adaptation is a four piece canvas each of them depicting a rose lying on a white soft mattress in their gardens. The leaves are drawn in such a way as though depict the arms of those roses. These arms seem to shrug as if to tell the viewers - ‘Hey I am still a rose - and I am in my rose bed!’. The artist has chosen to draw the back drop of in shades of bright red to match with the roses. The white bed forms a pleasing contrast of colors and does a lot to highlight the beauty of the roses. If you are a floral art aficionado and if you are looking for something out of the ordinary - this is the wall art that will satisfy your tastes! There is an old country song titled: “I’m Looking for a Brand-New Bed of Roses”. The owner of this piece of modern art could truthfully say that he or she has found it. The painting is almost whimsical in its design, as the leaves in the first two almost appear to be trying to hold “hands”. And, each rose seems to display its own personality. Just exactly what that is would be, of course, left up to each person who viewed the painting. The swirls and subtle shadings provide a nice contrast to the stark beauty of the flowers themselves.

Cheap Theater Tickets
Author: michaelrussell
Even in these days of hundreds of cable channels and endless cheap DVD releases there is still nothing quite like a trip to the theater. An evening taking in a good play or show just seems more of an event than going to the local multiplex. Many people have stopped going to the theater, however. Not because they do not enjoy it, but because they think that it is just too expensive. This is not necessarily true though. The savvy internet shopper can net themselves some great deals on discounted theater tickets, and for all the big shows that you really want to see. Wicked is one of the most successful new theater productions of recent years. It tells the story of the Wicked Witch of the West--yes, she of Oz; but Wicked is a long way from being some kind of sequel to The Wizard of Oz, although it does feature references to the classic 1939 film along the way. All of the characters you know and love are in the musical production: Ariel, Flounder, Sebastian the Crab, and of course the wicked sea witch Ursula. Productions of The Little Mermaid are currently being staged all over the country and discounted theater tickets are available online for shows at all locations. Another hassle associated with buying theater tickets is waiting in line outside the box office to purchase them. Online tickets agencies take all of that bother away, with the tickets being delivered right to your doorstep in plenty of time before the performance date.

Paintings: Showing The Difference Between Nude and Naked
Author: NAVAL LANGA
The praising of these artworks is obvious. But the protest mainly came form the so called guards of the culture. It is because they have mixed two different phenomenons: nude and naked. It is certain that when one person is deprived of his or her clothes he or she is called naked. The person would feel uncomfortable in that situation of the nakedness; and he or she would feel some sort of defencelessness, too, on being so naked. But the ‘nude’ body is not merely cloth-less figure. Here the person is neither defenceless nor feeling any shame or guilt. The naked body is well-balanced and feels proud of being so beautifully depicted in a natural pose. When we look at a nude painting, that work of art creates a visual and emotional impact on us. The beauty of a human figure so painted by artistic choice of colours and their intensity spread on canvas send us on a journey of an art land, the land whereupon the artists had visualised something and he or she had tried depicting the same before us. So the naked body may be a questionable identify, the one nude is not. Nudity presupposes the art and beauty. It is the representation of human body with no intention of creating the impulses like sex. Thus the nude and naked are clearly two different aspects. If we look at the painting by the master artists we would not fail to mark the difference between a naked body and a nude body. Here the persons being painted seem feeling quite comfortable with their position and the depiction of natural beauty. american art
Original African American Art
Author: Benicio Brown
African American paintings are in high demand, we know that for sure. The mixture of the two cultures combined into one form of art is truly beautiful, but what are the artists really trying to portray? Moving from somewhere you know as your home and landing in a foreign country is hard enough. Learning the language is achievable, and art is similar to that of a language. You need to learn to adapt quickly to a new way of life and remember that it is not just a language, but a culture as well. Artists realized that once they moved they would have to adapt their current practices to enable others to understand exactly what they were doing. It even came to the point where the artists understood that they might even have to mask their current beliefs and take up others to ensure that their art was popular and understood. Of course, African American paintings have a great history, and it is one that needs to be understood if you really want to understand African American art. The hardest time for an African American was certainly during the times of excessive slavery. If you were lucky enough to be a good artist, then you might be assigned to families. To begin with you might be making quilts and cushions or similar items, but the future would offer so much more. Eventually the African American artists became known as simply painters for white families. Whilst this was downgrading and the artists were not ever treated correctly, what they didn’t realize is this could be their ticket to freedom; their art was worth more to families than the artists themselves. As slavery became less and less popular in certain regions and people became to stand against it, artists were able to make their move. The quality of African American paintings at the time was highly valued by many families. So much to a point where some artists were able to break free by offering families a collection of their best work, and the families let them go! Of course, the next step for artists was getting through the civil war. Whilst African American artists were become more and more recognized, black culture in the USA was still separated from white culture. The white man dominated the streets and constantly downgraded other cultures. Of course, artists used this to their advantages and portrayed their feelings or lives through their artwork. Of course, many people didn’t understand where the idea originated from their work, or what it meant. That didn’t matter to the artists producing the African American paintings though as it was this emotion that allowed them to produce such quality work! In fact, the African American art community became so popular that their work was displayed through the country. Museums and studios proudly displayed their work. It was only slightly after this point that their work was considered as similar to that of European artists. Of course, the reasons African American paintings were so popular was because they were extremely unique. If they were suddenly being compared to work in Europe, then they didn’t really stand much hope of being the biggest and the best. The artists need to come up with something that would distinguish them from artists across Europe and for that matter, the rest of the globe! The Harlem Renaissance definitely managed to achieve this. It allowed African American art to be once again distinguished as popular and unique. Over the years the artists in the community build on each others life’s experiences and the past of their ancestors and the future of their families. Of course, the new found inspiration for the art meant that African American paintings became more and more in demand. The same supply and higher demand meant that they had to increase the prices of their work and were soon out pricing European artists! Of course, even to this date African American artists still look back on their ancestors work or lives for inspiration. This allows them to portray emotion and doesn’t let anyone forgot what happened and what shouldn’t happen once more. Emotion is the best form of inspiration and this is why African American paintings are such high quality!

How to Decorate Your Home with Abstract Canvas Art
Author: Luke Wildman
Do you want to decorate your home with abstract canvas art ? Whilst your choice is indeed excellent, you should know that there is more to decorating your home with abstract canvas art than just buying a piece of abstract art on canvas from a gallery. You have to make sure that your piece of art fits snugly in the room you are going to put it in. There are a few guidelines that you should bear in mind when you decorate your home with abstract canvas art . These guidelines will ensure that you will be showcasing your art in the way it is meant to be showcased. Moreover, you will be creating a room that is beautiful to look at and pleasant to stay in. Before You Buy Abstract Canvas Art The first step that you should take when decorating with abstract art is to take into consideration the room itself. If you are still in the process of decorating your house, you should finish decorating first. Get your walls painted, your floors carpeted or covered with rugs and your furniture in place before you consider wall art. The reason why you should finish decorating first before you buy abstract canvas art is because your art pieces should serve as finishing touches to the room. You would need to know what the room would look like beforehand so you would be able to get the appropriate art pieces. What would be the appropriate art pieces for your room? It depends on which furniture pieces and other artworks will be displayed along with your abstract painting. The painting should not be larger than the furniture piece itself and should somehow create a unified look when grouped with these furniture pieces and other decorative objects you will be putting with it. Another guideline that will help you is to hang your abstract canvas art on the focal wall of the room. The focal wall is the wall that faces the entryway of the room. In this way, anyone entering the room will be instantly drawn to the painting. It is the best way to showcase any painting, whether it is an expensive original artwork or a cheap reproduction. Hanging Your Abstract Canvas Art Let us say that you have already bought the abstract canvas art that you believe is right for your room. How are you supposed to hang and display it? As mentioned above, the painting you have selected should help create a unified look with the rest of the furnishings in the room. Second, you have to hang it somewhere where it can be seen easily, such as the focal wall of the room. A third thing you need to remember is that you should not leave a lot of space between the painting and the furniture near it. Putting them close together will add to the unified look that you are trying to achieve. Another guideline that will be helpful to you is to imagine an imaginary rectangle when you are hanging your abstract canvas art and confine your pictures within this imaginary rectangle. This is especially helpful if you have a number of small abstract canvas art pieces that you are grouping together. In this way, your wall display will appear neat, clean and pretty instead of cluttered.

Eight Important Features of Digital Camera Choosing a digital camera can be very confusing because of all the camera features that are available. Probably the first thing to think about is how much you want to spend. The price ranges are huge and you will most likely be able to find one that fits within your budget. The main difference is that a DSLR camera has interchangeable lenses, while a point and shoot camera lens is part of the camera. So the lens you buy with a Point and Shoot camera is the lens you get. Period. So one of the most important things if you are purchasing a Point and Shoot camera is the quality of the lens and that it will do what you want it to, regarding wide angle or zoom features. As far as other features go, here are some of the basic options that are offered. Amount of Megapixels Many cameras of today will offer 10MP or more. A high amount of megapixels is a good option if you will be printing large prints or doing a fair amount of cropping. Optical Zoom The higher the optical zoom number, the closer in you will be able to focus and shoot a subject. Optical zooms can range from 3x up to 24x. Shutter Speed Fast shutter speeds (high numbers) are advantageous if you are shooting quick moving objects, such as sports, birds, etc. An example of a high speed would be 1/2000th of a second. ISO Settings High ISO settings are typically used when you are taking photos in dimly lit or dark situations. Here is where the quality of the digital camera is important. Just because a camera offers a very high ISO setting does not mean that the image captured will be noise-free. Noise is tiny specs that appear in a photo. If this is important to you (taking pictures in dark areas), be sure to buy a camera that produces quality photos even at high ISO settings. Scene Modes If you like things to be very automatic, be sure the camera you are considering has lots of Scene Modes, where you can set the camera to just shoot, for example, Sports. The camera makes the correct settings automatically. LCD This is the viewing screen on the camera. Generally they will range from 2 to 3 inches in size the larger, the better. Some cameras offer this with or without an electronic viewfinder, which is the small opening you look through when framing a shot. Flash Automatic flashes usually work for a specific distance. If you are shooting in situations where you will need to use the flash, check out the flash distance of the camera to make sure it will work well for you. These are some of the main camera features. There are others also. The best thing to do is to decide what you will be using the digital camera for and choose one that has features and options that are most important to you. tattoo galleries
Find the top tattoo galleries, collections and websites
Author: Jon shapiro
As you probably know the net is a great resource for tattoo enthusiasts. But there is so much junk out there, copied, unoriginal designs, rip-off sites…know what I mean? So how can you find the top tattoo galleries, collections and websites? Here is a list of things to look out for. The first thing to consider is the size and quality of the collection. Most quality tattoo galleries have over a few thousand original designs. Make sure these have been submitted by professional artists. It is usually pretty easy to spot a poor site as designs are usually copied and often the image quality when you enlarge is bad. A large gallery will mean you have many variations of color, size and type in one category such as scorpion, butterfly or Celtic cross. A huge design collection is not much good if you can’t find what you are looking for. Make sure there is a search option preferably with different options like design category, size and color. If it is a collection that you download it may not have this but should at least have tattoos in separate category files. Many tattoo galleries and websites offer more than a design collection. Some have a discussion forum to exchange ideas, get tips and meet other enthusiasts. This may not be for everyone but for those considering their first tattoo this can be a big plus. If there is a forum there should be a members area where you view others’ photos and upload your own. The majority of quality sites offer bonuses in there packages. Usually ebooks make sure these are tattoo related and you will actually use them. Check out what other users say about it. Who would you trust more a site nobody’s ever heard of or one people are raving about? Some people are put off by popular sites, thinking that loads of others will already have the same designs. But with a gallery of thousands of tattoos it is pretty unlikely you’ll be sitting on the beach next to someone with exactly the same design. Most quality sites have a guarantee. If they are looking to rip you off they probably won’t. So check first so you won’t have anything to loose. For further information including full reviews of lots of tattoo site go to Tattoo Design Report . All reviews contain complete package details and actual customer feedback.

Army Bumper Stickers - Support Our Troops Every Day
Author: Amy Wells
Everyone says they support the troops, but what do they really do to show that support? It has become more of an acceptable or expected sentiment or belief, rather than something you do. Yet, to support implies real action! One of the simplest actions you can take to show that you really do support your troops is to speak to the world with army bumper stickers. If you have loved ones serving in the military, then army bumper stickers are required loyalty items for every vehicle you own. There is no better way to support and remember them while they are away at war than to proudly display army bumper stickers that express their unique viewpoints on the world as it is today. The world happens to be very different today than it ever has been before, especially for army families and supporters. As most of the world is engulfed in some type of war or even multiple wars at once, there is a love/hate relationship developing between every day people and the military. Most people do not support all of the war efforts, yet they find themselves sympathizing with the troops and sincerely appreciating the deadly work they carry out on a daily basis. So, most people hate the war but love the troops. This is one reason why military-themed bumper stickers are becoming so popular. It is difficult to express complicated emotions and beliefs such as loving the troops but hating the war. A well designed and written bumper sticker will sum up everything you think and feel in one snippet. That snippet may be short, but military bumper stickers are very powerful. Not only do they allow you to speak your mind for a very low cost, but they allow others to be changed by those thoughts you so proudly display. This is simply a very effective method of putting your beliefs out there for others to learn from, agree with, or even be changed by. Whether you want to make a serious statement to everyone who happens to come by your bumper or would rather approach the topic with humor, there are many different army bumper stickers currently on the market. To find the widest variety and track down those that say exactly what you have been thinking and feeling, look at online retailers who put out a lot of specially designed bumper stickers. Looking for army bumper stickers ? Visit http://www.humperbumper.com for low cost, high quality bumper stickers.

Nude Females
NUDE FEMALES: Painting Creating Sensual Atmosphere
Author: NAVAL LANGA“Each day I go to my studio full of joy; in the evening when obliged to stop because of darkness I can scarcely wait for the next morning to come…” -William-Adolphe Bouguereau
Bouguereau, the son of an olive oil merchant Bouguereau was a staunch traditionalist painter from France. He preferred both realistic and mythological themes for depiction of his art; but he presented the subjects with newer and fresh interpretations of the classical subjects he chose to paint. Very often he chose nude female bodies as his subjects; but he emphasized showing the art of painting with his ‘photo-realistic style’ of painting. This made his painting popular and clients paid and commissioned him generously.
In figurative painting, showing the contours of body is as important as the concept of painting the effects of light in still life painting. Bouguereau had a natural instinct and the technical knowledge, too, about the contours of nude female body. A human body, especially a female nude, attracts our eyes by the beauty and proportions of the body painted; in this sphere, Bouguereau acquired artistic inspiration from the sixteenth century artists.
In one of his paintings, Elegy, Bouguereau had depicted his artistic prowess in creating a sensual atmosphere by painting two nude figures in photo-reality style of painting. The pair of painted nudes, a woman and a child, helps creating sensual environment on the canvass. With all the factors of corporeal pleasure present, the artistic value of the painting seems missing nowhere. The colour scheme chosen and the masterly depiction of the symmetry of the nude female body are the real factors creating a balanced environment.

Paintings of Medieval India
Mughal Miniatures - The Paintings of Elegance
Author: NAVAL LANGAThe Mughal era of miniature paintings owns a noteworthy page in the history of art of paintings in India. The Mughals - descendants of Timur and Genghiz Khan with strong cultural ties to the Persian world - became rules of north India in 1526 and became the most important artistically active Muslim dynasty on the subcontinent.
The miniature style of paintings practiced during this period was clearly influenced by the Persian style of paintings. The Persian painters of miniature style used upright format and general setting with emphasis on flat aerial perspective. The Mughal era artists, especially in the time of King Akbar (1556-1605), maintained that qualities of the Persian style in their work. But they added their vision and took some freedom. They applied naturalism and the tried the depiction of the detailed observation of the world in immediate surround. Mughal and Rajput Paintings make a major contribution to the study of north Indian painting. Indian Miniature Paintings of sixteenth century, mainly from the courts of Mughal and Rajput Kings, were characterized by their typical form and look. These miniatures contained large areas of contrasting colours that the artists used quite symbolically.
These paintings represented the images on flat plane that result in strong two-dimensional design. In many paintings, separate scenes were painted in several sectors of the same work. But the proportions of these sectors risked making the whole painting to look unrealistic. Burt the main strength was their strong linear rhythm. It made the miniatures creating the effect of great energy. Some of the miniatures contain scenes where in the prince, or a king, is sitting with his lover woman. She may be his wife or one of the wives, as the Mughal and Rajaput Kings kept several wives. But the simple scene of two lovers sitting side by side illustrates much more than what we see at the first instance.
The company is decorated by seemingly the atmosphere conducive of love: Good arrangement of food and wine accompanied by two young women musicians. The artists have done much labour in making the details of the miniature paintings picturesque. The colours used for depicting the transparency of the clothes are also indicating that the characters sitting in the scene belongs to a highly rich family. The silk clothes were in vogue in that piece of time. However such costly clothes were limited within the wealthy people of the time. The miniature artists of Mughal era focused their attention on the beauty.

Pencil Drawing
Learn Pencil Drawing of Cats and Dogs Using Black and Colour Pencils
Author: NAVAL LANGAThe art of portrayal is relatively difficult, compared to the other drawings and paintings. While doing all types of paintings or drawings, an artist enjoys a poetic license, a license to use his or her artistic freedom.
Our dogs and cats always have the most curious expressions on their faces, especially when we are looking at them. Look at the face of a cat when she is sitting on your compound wall or on a garden chair made of stone. Here the subject matter provides us with a chance to exploit the beauty of the pencil drawing. Here when light is prone to generate extreme contrast among the objects, a dog or a cat and the other things in the surrounding, it is good opportunity to learn the art of pencil drawing.
We can use coloured pencils, too, for the drawing. The technique of pencil lining and shading remains the same for the black or colour pencils. But in case of the colour pencils you should have good experience of drawing. If you know some basic rules of the art of pencil drawing, that would help you much.
While using colour pencil as medium of drawing, you can exploit it extremely well. The different shades available in this field of colour drawing would enable you more freedom in expressing the scene before your eyes. The pencils and proper choice of the colours play a greater part, if you are drawing with coloured pencils. In case of the black pencil drawing, the skillful use of eraser also comes to your help.

oil painting lesson
Oil Painting Tips - Different Methods For Starting an Oil Painting
Author: Ralph SerpeOil paint is an exciting medium to work with. One will never become bored while painting with oil paints. There are a variety of materials and other mediums at your fingertips and when you combine these materials and mediums with the versatility of oil paints, you have a variety of interesting ways to begin an oil painting. There are certain drawing and painting mediums that are compatible with oil paints and when utilized, will make your painting experience more interesting and enjoyable.
CHARCOAL
Charcoal works beautifully as a preliminary step to oil painting. There are three main forms of charcoal used most often by artist's and they are compressed, willow and vine charcoal. Willow and Vine charcoal tend to be more highly favored for preliminary drawings as they leave a lighter mark and are easier to erase. Compressed charcoal, because it leaves a much darker line, is more difficult to remove and not as widely used to start an oil painting. Some helpful tools to use for working with charcoal are kneaded erasers, stiff bristle brushes, blenders and tortillions. Whatever type of charcoal drawing you create, make certain not to go overboard with your application. Charcoal is very forgiving with oil paints, but too much, and it can effect the paint in adverse ways.
PAINTING ON A TONED GROUND
Depending on the type of final picture you are working towards, sometimes the white of the canvas can be too bright or have too much contrast which makes starting a painting rather difficult. Using a uniform toned ground on your support, will make it much easier to judge the values in your painting. You are welcome to use any color you like to tone your canvas. Some of the more popular tones are warm reds, yellow and browns.
Toning your canvas is pretty straight forward and will not require that much time. Here is an example using one of my favorite tones. First create a thin wash using Yellow Ochre and Burn Umber. Apply the wash to your support generously. Use a large bristle brush to spread and cover the support entirely. Allow the wash to dry for a couple of minutes and then wipe off the excess with a cloth. You don't have to use oils to tone your canvas. You can tone your canvas with any of the water mediums described below.
ACRYLIC PAINT
Acrylic paint is an excellent choice for starting an oil painting and one of my favorites. One of the most attractive features of acrylic paint is its fast drying time. This property of acrylic paint makes blocking in your underpainting very easy. Ideas can be worked out quickly on your canvas and instead of waiting days for your underpainting to dry, you are ready to paint in mere minutes. This really does depend on the type of acrylic paint you are using and how thickly you apply it. Not only is the fast drying time attractive, but as in other water based mediums, there is no need to thin the paint with dangerous substances like turpentine.
WATER SOLUBLE PENCILS
Water soluble pencils provide an excellent way to begin an oil painting mainly because of their versatility. The beauty of this medium is that when dry, it acts like a normal colored pencil, but when water is added, it magically mimics the properties of water color. This enables the artist to both draw detailed lines as well as create colorful washes.
WATER SOLUBLE OIL PAINT
Many artists are not that familiar with this last medium as its a relative newcomer to the world of painting. Enter, water soluble oil paint. With normal oil paints, a traditional method for starting a painting is by diluting the oil paint with turpentine to apply washes. The problem with turpentine is its a very dangerous substance. Many artists develop allergic reactions to this substance and are unable to use it. The beauty of water soluble oil paints is that no turpentine or other harmful substances are needed. They can be thinned with plain old water. Water soluble oil paints behave just like normal oil paints and your brushes can be cleaned with soap and water, again, avoiding the need to use harsh chemicals.

how to sell art online
How To Sell Original Art On Ebay And Make Money
Author: Michael BridgesEbay is the biggest market place on the Internet. There are millions of items being sold there everyday. As an artist you may be wondering how to sell original art on Ebay and make money or even a living from it. After all there are thousands of artist there listing their art for sale day after day. At any given time there can be tens of thousands of art pieces listed. Some those pieces may not even get seen.
So the question becomes how do you get your art to stand out from the crowd and get it into a buyer’s hands? You can look on Ebay and see that there are popular forms of art that sell very well. Abstract art for instance or Pop Art, even cat art to name a few. You can find listings for these styles of art well into the thousands with more being listed daily. So you may be thinking since these styles are popular and people are buying them I’ll do something in those styles. But because those styles are popular there is a lot of competition and unless you are already well known and have a customer base it’s hard to compete in those styles.
If you want to know how to sell original art on Ebay and make money the answer is you have to be different. You have to do something that a good number of people are looking for, but there is very little competition for. In order to stand out from the crowd you have to stay away from what the crowd is doing. I for instance do surreal art. There is a fairly good amount of people that are looking to buy surreal art, but there is very little competition in that style. When I list an art piece for auction as surrealism, I may be competing with three hundred other pieces on ten pages verses ten thousand pieces on three hundred pages as an abstract listing.
So to be successful as an artist on Ebay you must be different. Stay away from what everybody else is doing no matter how well it may be selling. And above all make sure you are doing high quality artwork. That’s how to sell original art on Ebay and make money.

Pick up the model and hold it with your fingers on either side of the “V.” Gently bring your hands together allowing the paper to collapse into an upside-down pyramid shape.
Step 5: Place on tablePlace the model back down on the table and arrange it so that there are two flaps on each side and the closed point is at the top.
Step 6: Fold bottom corners upWorking only on the front flaps, fold the bottom right and bottom left corners up to the top point.

Vermeer
Vermeer - A Master of Genre Paintings
Author: NAVAL LANGAIn the style of the paintings known as Genre paintings the artists make pictorial representations in any of various media that represent scenes or events from everyday life, such as markets and domestic settings. Vermeer's paintings speak the language of cool observation, involving the viewer in an experience of deepening relation and visual discoveries painted in the acts of daily life. There is no other seventeenth century artist who early in his career employed, in the most lavish way, the exorbitantly expensive pigment lapis lazuli, or natural ultramarine. However no drawings have been positively attributed to neither Vermeer; nor paintings offer clues to preparatory methods.
Vermeer painted mostly domestic interior scenes. His works are largely genre pieces and portraits, with the exception of some cityscapes. Genre painters choose the ordinary life of common men as subject. This style of paintings is also called genre scenes or genre views. These paintings are pictorial representations in any of various media that represent scenes or events from everyday life, such as markets, domestic settings, interiors, parties, inn scenes, and street scenes. The artists are free to use their imaginations; as such representations may be realistic, imagined, or romanticized. Unlike modern time, the number of paints available was quite less in 17th century.
Moreover the colours were of different characteristics in regards to permanence, workability, and drying time. Vermeer mainly used white, red madder, green earth, raw umber and ivory black, yellow ochre and vermilion. If we look at the one of the paintings where Vermeer had applied the expensive ultramarine we can know better. The bread, the basket and the bowl are so vibrant that they seem competing to steal the viewers' attention. However the Focal point of the painting and the maid is the milk being poured in, by which the artist has painted the most ordinary act of daily life in a poetic statement. The bread, the basket and the bowl are so vibrant that they seem competing to steal the viewers' attention. In dependent paintings of the persons doing common acts, like carpentry and missionary, was a marked departure in Western painting.
It is because these paintings of common people doing their day to day works were without religious pretext. For similar paintings by the genre painter you may visit the following links.
